TRADITIONAL AND COGNITIVE-DISCOURSIVE ASPECTS OF GRAMMATICAL CATEGORIES (based on grammatical category of gender material)

Abstract: 
The article is devoted to showing the essence of the grammatical category of gender, its structure, semantics and functioning in the language, defining principles of grammatical categories classification in traditional grammar.
A new cognitive-discoursive approach in theoretical elaboration of grammatical categories and their role in the processes of world categorization and knowledge representation in the language are presented in this article.
