PROPOSITION AS THE UNIT OF COGNITION AND COMMUNICATION

Abstract: 
The article reveals the specificity of proposition as the unit of knowledge and communication. The proposition as a discrete unit represents the fragment of the speaker’s world view – the situation, and provides the transition from the language of thought to the conventional language. Thus, in communication the proposition generates the same knowledge as in the cognitive space of the listener.
