PRINCIPLES OF GENDER CATEGORIZATION

Abstract: 
In the article the principles of gender categorization in Germanic languages are outlined. Systemic and functional categorization are described, the latter being seen as the result of thinking activity, including the stages of gender positioning and gender profiling.
