Abstract:
The article deals with concept as one of the major units of cognitive linguistics. Two well-known approaches to its investigation have been elucidated. The authors suggest a scheme of analysing the concept as a complex unit represented at all the levels of language as a system. Moreover, a review of the recent researches of concepts in Ukraine has been performed, the methodology of studying separate concepts has been described. Special attention is paid to the issues and perspectives of conceptual investigations in Ukraine.
