CONCEPTUALIZATION AND THE STEREOTYPE THEORY

Abstract: 
The paper presents a typology of approaches to the conceptualization of con-temporary linguistic and cognitive research, and discovers the important role of gender stereotypes in the conceptualization of ideas about man and woman. Gender stereotypes are considered as basic cognitive units formed the basis for the representation of gender stratification of society.
