Abstract
The article focuses upon language as a system of hierarchically organized levels of categorial knowledge configuration. These levels form a universal system of language representation of cognitive processes. The main ones are: primary (empirical) categorial configuration, basic categorial configuration, secondary categorial configuration. Analysis of language categories when regarded as specific formats of know-ledge enable to prove that language tends to develop towards more adequate and complete knowledge representation that is achieved due to the definite correlation between language categories and cognitive activity levels of a subject of cognition.
