Abstract:
The study of cognitive aspects of the language goes beyond the formalized approaches, shaping new scientific interests. The authors consider word-building as the means of culture comprehension. One of the cultural important senses is corporal experience. A “body” is regarded as a “cultural memory reservoir”. The analysis of some derivatives proves the fact, that kinesthetic corporal qualities can represent prototypical knowledge for the formation of new words and meanings in a language.
