COGNITIVE APPROACH TO THE STUDY OF THE MOTIVATION OF A DERIVATIVE WORD

Abstract: 
The article deals with cognitive aspect of studying the problem of motivation of derivative words. The importance of knowledge evoked by base words in the process of determining the meaning of a derivative word is shown on a material of denominal verbs and derivatives formed from proper names.
