Abstract:
Peculiarity of the interrelation of language (word, speech), thinking, and consciousness on the basis of the author's definitions of concepts “thinking”, “thought”, “understanding”, “consciousness”, and “awareness” are examined. It is shown that in general case processes of thinking, understanding, and forming of thoughts are not socially caused and therefore they are inherent not only in a human being, but in animals too. The forming of words and speech is ensured by processes of thinking, but only with the participation of processes of consciousness and awareness, which are inherent solely in a human being.
