Abstract:
In the process of intercultural communication a translator faces peculiarities of gendered conceptualization. Linguistic gender influences the language speakers’ perception of the reality and activates in their minds the frames connected with ethnically-specific gender representations, thus participating in forming particular con-notations. Translator’s disregard for this fact may lead to undesirable effects and above all to distortion of the author’s intention.
