Abstract
English business discourse is a set of different frame situations negotiations being one of them. The participants of negotiations are to be considered not only as representatives of different languages and cultures but also as representatives of different presuppositions and cognitive bases. Using cognitive and pragmalinguistic approaches to the investigation of negotiations strategy will provide better under-standing of national characters of participants.
