Abstract:
The paper focuses on the conceptual structures determining the semantics of English adjectives that denote human beings’ mental characteristics. It is argued that the conceptual opposition “changed – unchanged object” forms the conceptual base of certain adjectives in question. The author describes conceptual schemas participating in realization of this opposition.
