COGNITIVE DISCURSAL MECHANISMS OF IMPLEMENTING ORIENTATIONAL LANGUAGE FUNCTION

Abstract: 
The implementation of orientational language function is modeled in this article with the help of image schemas. These mental structures of sensorimotor origin represent conceptual domains from different perspectives. This thesis is exemplified by the analysis of the verbal representation of somatic and physiological domains in English magazine discourse.
