Abstract: 
The category of Optativity is one of the major categories in categorial space of the language. Its cognitive foundation is a concept DESIRE. This concept is included in the sphere of person’s inner world. The main goal of the report is the description of typological features and basic ways of representing Desire by means of the category of Optativity.
