Cognitive linguistics on the payroll of society: why and how is it important to study region’s media image?

Abstract:  The paper studies the region’s media image from the point of view of cognitive linguistics. The authors come to the conclusion that cognitive linguistics serves as a tool which enables to study and describe the region’s media image in terms of linguistic axiology in conjunction with extra-linguistic factors.
