The article provides a brief overview of the linguistic heritage of famous French linguist of the 20th century G. Guillaume. This heritage contains productive ideas and numerous constructive tips for researchers working in the field of various areas of linguistics, that are in contact with the problems of semiosis of linguistic and speech units.
