Abstract
In the article the author comes to the following conclusions: 1) the synchrony of the Salishan languages represents the productivity of somatic lexical suffixes in the construction of new linguistic material corresponding to the nouns, adjectives, verbs of the Indo-European languages; 2) diachronically, the source of the somatic lexical suffixes were not nouns, but a special class of prototypical suffixal morphemes; 3) the process of proprioception was one of the primary ones in the cognition of the world.
