Abstract: The article deals with the problems of linguistics representation of irrational (intuitive) understanding through verbal semantics. The author discriminates between rational and irrational understanding on the basis of frame modelling as different modes of understanding tend to actualize different features of the UNDERSTANDING frame. Analysis of metaphoric nature of verbal semantics is performed, relevant lexical-syntactic interface is also considered.
