Abstract: The article deals with the language means connected with the nomination the offender as the social phenomenon and as a legal concept. In the article it is come to light the features of text updating of a concept THE OFFENDER in a publicistic discourse and defined the cognitive signs and referential features of the nominations of the offender in the publicistic text.
