Abstract:  The paper features the phenomenon of linguistic creativity from cognitive communicative perspective. From the cognitive point of view, linguocreative processes conceptualize and verbalize the realities of the changing world, realizing the nominative function of language. At the same time, linguocreative units serve as a transfer of new knowledge about changes in the surrounding reality. Discourse acts as a communicative event and creates conditions for the successful transfer and dissemination of new knowledge. The article brings examples from mass-media discourse, which is most susceptible to the changing social context.
