“CASCADE” OF METAPHORS AND MULTIMODAL METAPHORS IN SCIENTIFIC DISCOURSE

Abstract: 
The article reveals the peculiarities of metaphors in scientific discourse of the English language. Knowledge structures of deliberate metaphor fixed in texts of scientific article of linguistics are revealed, as well as bases of multimodal metaphor in scientific speech, where semantic and semiotic features of multimodal metaphor in neurophysiological domain of knowledge are shown.
