LANGUAGE AND THINKING IN THE POSTSTRUCTURAL ERA: POPULAR MYTHS

Author:  Kobenko Yuriy V.

Abstract:  The article provides a critical assessment of the poststructuralist trends based on a number of anti-scientific myths about the nature of language and thinking. The focus is on the myths about the primacy of thinking, the role of the cognitive metaphor in matters of cognition and the so-called «discourse», which receive due debunking.
