FROM UNDERSTANDING TO CONVICTION

Abstract:  While studying speech interaction, scientists pay attention to two issues: the organization of the speaker's speech and the listener’s technique of understanding. In this article, an attempt is made to establish a hierarchy of understanding stages from misunderstanding to complete understanding and belief, which became possible with the development of cognitive linguistics ideas and highlighting the interpreting function of language. The work sorts out and describes the following stages of understanding: conceptual understanding; propositional or directly cognitive understanding; semantic understanding and understanding at the level of intentions.
