Abstract: The article concentrates on the mechanisms of translation / interpreting. We analyze the translation / interpreting within the framework of interaction between the conceptual worldviews of two cultures. We hold that there is a conceptual mapping taking place between the two worldviews at several levels: i) the level of the conceptual worldviews and linguistic maps of the two cultures in contact; ii) the level of separate concepts; iii) the level of conceptual features / attributes.
