FIXED PHRASE AS AN AXIOLOGICAL SIGN

FIXED PHRASE AS AN AXIOLOGICAL SIGN

Author:  Seagal K.Ya.

Abstract:  The article is devoted to the description of the Russian fixed phrase «Nachal za zdravie, a konchil za upokoj» (‘Started on a merry note, but finished on a sad one’) as an axiological sign. It is proposed to clarify its etymology and semantic representation. Some techniques of the fixed phrase variation in discourse are considered. In addition, the author shares his memories of Professor V.N. Teliya.
