“TEXTCENTRICITY” IN TRANSLATION: PRO ET CONTRA

Abstract:  The paper deals with some aspects connected with the role of the source text in translation process. The authors argue that last decades the implementation of the communicative-functional approach leads sometimes to the understatement of the original, which they do not deem to be quite reasonable.
