Abstract
This study is devoted to comparing the ancient Greek and modern Greek linguistic worldviews. The research material is lexemes describing the concept SOUL in the Greek language in a diachronic context. It was possible to trace changes in the verbal expression of this concept. There is a transition to less variability in its description, with the remaining syncretism.
