Abstract: The article deals with slang phraseology in its relation to the codes of traditional culture and youth subcultures. The subcultural material presented in the article shows semantic transformations of phraseological units, accompanied by a change in their relationship with the cultural code. The universality of culture codes and the specificity of their subcultural manifestation is illustrated. The importance of linguistic and cultural research of phraseology as a sphere of intersection of cultural and subcultural codes is emphasized.
