Abstract:
The article deals with phraseological units of the Belarusian language with the component-trophonym of animal origin. The article identifies cultural connotation, a stable value content of culture, its categories and meanings, the interaction of language and culture of the nation due to the selection of trophonyms when creating the images of phraseologisms objectifying the gastronomic code of culture of Belarusians in the range of national and cultural self-conscience. The interpretation of the figurative representations connected with national gastronomic realia, first of all, reveals the evaluation of a person himself, the characteristic of his actions, state, and less often the characteristic and evaluation of different realia of his life.
