Abstract:
The article considers a particular type of linguacultural units: quasi-symbols. The quasi-symbol is distinguished from other signs of culture by an imperative orientation towards the interpreter. The semiotic specificity of a quasi-symbol is determined by its verbal nature, while the semantic specificity is determined by the representation of abstract semantics. Using the comparison of a symbol and a quasi-symbol 'krest' (a cross) , it has been revealed that correlating symbols mainly express different semantic layers.
