PERCEPTION AND MECHANISMS OF MEANING-MAKING OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS

Abstract:  The article deals with the ideas of biocognitive linguistics concerning mechanisms of meaning-making (semiosis) in living systems. It states the fact that as a cognitive phenomenon, the meaning of linguistic sign presents a certain associative potential that is basically a person’s memory of the previous uses of a particular sign.
