MetAPHORIC cognitive models for the formation of COMPOUND PLANT NAMES

Abstract: 
The article deals with metaphoric cognitive models that determine the formation of English compound plant names in the process of conceptual derivation. The author determines the characteristics on the basis of which metaphoric projections are carried out. Some principles of conceptual derivation are described.
