Just war in political cartoons: polysemy and polycode linguistics

Abstract:  The article provides analysis of verbal and nonverbal means of manipulation on the basis of the political cartoons devoted to the concept of just war from the perspective of cognitive semantics, also reveals the essence of multimodality, the process of texts decoding composed of several codes by the interpreting conscious is presented.
