CHARACTER VIEWPOINT AND OBSERVER VIEWPOINT: THEIR REALIZATION IN HEAD AND HAND GESTURES

Abstract:  This study highlights the integrated approach to the analysis of hand and head gestures considering speaker’s viewpoint. Using data from the RUPEX corps, it shows that semantic and pragmatic characteristics of gestures can be described only putting into perspective data from other channels and the communicators’ behaviour.
