COMMUNICATIVE IMPACTS USING NON-CONVENTIONAL SIGNS: ABOUT THE SOURCE OF SENSE PRODUCTION IN THE SEMIOSIS

Author:  Vdovichenko A.V.

Abstract:  The experiment “Recording a sequence of characters from memory” allows making some adjustments to the concept of linguistic convention and conventional sign. From the point of view of the communicative model of semiosis, instead of a linguistic convention (uniformly attributing some meaning / meaning to a “sign” by the participants of a “linguistic” collective), it should be stated that what “is conventionalized” (understood, approved, interpreted, etc.) is a personal reference, which the communicant is involved in the attempt to change external cognitive states.
