Abstract:
The author discusses the perspectives of the cognitive analysis of Instagram hashtag use, showing how the study of semantic and functional properties of hashtags can broaden our understanding of the cognitive mechanisms underlying their usage, namely their role in the construction of certain stereotypical images, formation of a new type of thinking and their creative potential.
