Abstract:  The article reveals the tendencies defined by Elena Koubriakova - a brilliant scholar and teacher, reflected in conceptions of Russian and foreign researchers at the present moment. The evolution of discourse theory occurs on the basis of language means in correlation with semiotic, cognitive and pragmatic features, which are fulfilled in the framework of Cognitive linguistics.
